Center for International Communications

This is one of the affiliates of Kyorin University. It takes charge of various administrative affairs concerning both international students studying at Kyorin and Kyorin students studying abroad. The staff not only keeps a number of updated records of overseas academic institutions, but it also sets up various activities for long-term international students studying in Japan. In order to welcome the students to Japan, the staff holds an annual party at the beginning of each academic year on the Hachioji campus. There the overseas students are given the opportunity to make friends with Japanese students through games and cultural exchange. This is the gateway through which they build confidence in their Japanese skills and make real contact with the Japanese culture.
The staff at the Center also assists in solving language and other daily problems the international students encounter. There are approximately 300 overseas students studying at Kyorin University every year.

Unique Study-Abroad Programs

In addition to academic exchange agreements, the university provides many kinds of shorter study-abroad programs. Currently, two programs are popular: one is overseas internship, and the other is teaching Japanese language to non-native speakers of Japanese. The internship is available either in Singapore or Britain. Students who join the program experience jobs first-hand in a variety of workplaces from one to three months. The aspirants for Japanese teachers, on the other hand, have chances to try their skills in China or Singapore. All of the programs are considered as elective courses back in Kyorin University, and therefore the students can take these courses for credit.
