Go Global in Your Own Way
Kyorin University offers each and every student the opportunity to become the best person they can be in a variety of ways. While there is no one set way to “Go Global”, all students in the Department of Foreign Studies will possess the following characteristics upon graduation: multiple language ability; perspective taking skills and a spirit of “おもてなし.”
All of our students study not one but two foreign languages in the first year. Outside of classroom study, students of all departments have the opportunity to speak with native speakers of English and Chinese daily in our salons as well as in informal gatherings in the cafeteria. Being able to speak in more than one language is the first step to “Go Global.”.
Many students choose Kyorin University for the opportunity to study abroad. Currently 1 out of every 3 students in our department study abroad in their second year of university and that number is increasing every year. To live and study or even have an internship in a foreign company is certainly one way to “Go Global.”
At Kyorin, students can study about Japanese culture in either Japanese, English or even in Chinese. In addition, events encourage friendship building between international and Japanese students. Actively seeking out these opportunities is another way to “Go Global” without ever leaving the campus.
All students learn the spirit of “おもてなし” by taking a Hospitality course. Whether preparing to work in the service industry and welcome foreigners to Japan or just to communicate with foreigners present in a Japanese office, Kyorin University students develop the heart to make others feel welcome and thus become true Global Human Resources.
These are just some of the ways to “Go Global” at Kyorin University. We welcome you to come and find your own way. We believe that it takes more than mere language skills to communicate effectively and through our unique curriculum and opportunities both on and off campus we are confident that in four years you will become a contributing citizen of your town, country and the world.
