Prof. Akimasa Hayashi was appointed to our lab as a professor.

Message
I am honored to have been appointed as a professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the professors who have provided me with such warm guidance, as well as to everyone who has supported me. My research has focused primarily on neoplastic diseases of the hepatobiliary and pancreatic systems, and I have dedicated myself to advancing the fields of diagnostic pathology and molecular pathology. In the Department of Integrative Physiology, I intend to apply the pathological perspective I have cultivated to engage in education and research in physiology, aiming for an integrated understanding of biological functions. In terms of research, I aim to contribute to elucidating the pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer—a disease that still carries a poor prognosis despite advances in diagnosis and treatment—and to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods. I will continue to value collaboration with professors and researchers both within and outside the university, striving to advance medical science and contribute to society. I sincerely ask for your continued guidance and encouragement.
