The Program to Support Research Activities of Female Researchers, instituted in 2011, is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's efforts to provide funding for the development of human resources in science and technology.
Aiming to help female researchers perform at their full potential, this national government-sponsored program has worked over the past four years to develop research environments that give full consideration to childbirth, childcare, nursing-care, and other life events, help women achieve a better work-life balance, enable women to enhance their research abilities, and promote the appointment of women to higher-level positions.
With its selection to the Program, Kyorin has created the Gender Equality Promotion Office to help "construct a female researcher support system that will serve as a model for other universities."
