A message from the Director

Kyorin University established the Gender Equality Promotion Office after securing the privilege to participate in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Program to Support Research Activities of Female Researchers (general type), a part of the government's funding for the Developing Human Resources in Science and Technology project, for FY2014. Diversity represents an increasingly important element in the drive to energize the University's future and nurture academic development. Kyorin University needs to create and support flexible education and research activities that take harness the full, wide-ranging potential of diverse human resources. In order to foster a school-wide awareness of gender equality and enable female researchers to make the most of their abilities, dynamically pursuing their interests on equal footing with their male counterparts, we are working hard to establish a thorough, fine-tuned support structure. Joining forces with the Kyorin University Research Promotion Center, we will strive to help expand the base of researchers, take steps to encourage human resource development, and work to create environments that allow researchers to achieve a fruitful balance between their studies and their individual life events. All of us at the Gender Equality Promotion Office are determined to give female researchers the tools to attain a good life-work balance, do better research, explore new opportunities to utilize their unique skills, and benefit society in a wide variety of ways.

Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us make the Program a success.
