The Kyorin University Support System for Female Researchers

Kyorin University has established maternity health care regulations, Kyorin Gakuen childcare leave, etc., regulations, shift-based half-day work guidelines, reserve leave regulations, and other policies in order to support both male and female researchers as they deal with childbirth and childcare. These policies have created measures for the health care of female researchers who are expecting or caring for a new child, systems for childcare leave, special childcare hours, and sick/injured child leave, a system that allows employees to take certain days off by making use of shift-based half-day hours, special reduced full-time hours for employees dealing with childbirth or childcare, a system for flexible working hours, safeguards against overwork, and more.
The "Poppins Kid's Room" also operates in conjunction with the Kyorin University Hospital Department of Pediatrics. Located near the Mitaka Campus, the facility continues to accommodate an increasing number of users (including male researchers) every year and play a significant role in assisting researchers dealing with important life events.
