キャンパスの幽霊!?

Our class started at 8:00AM． First， we talked about baseball game yesterday． Besides， we talked differences between Japanese and American foods． I said American foods are so fat and drinks are so sweet． Then Mary(our teacher) asked us what are healthy and delicious Japanese foods． We said that is “Udon”， “Soba” and “Soumen”． But we had hardships because we must explain to Mary what kind of foods these are．

After a short break， Mary talked about American superstitions． Superstition is “Meishin” in Japanese． For example， breaking a mirror means bad luck， finding a penny suggests good luck， finding a black cat prophesies someone’s death or sickness． I understood many Americans are conscious about these superstitions like Japanese people． At the end of our class today， we taught Mary a Japanese greeting “Sayonara”． We test her tomorrow．

After the class， I and elder Yuuki talked with Jason and Jeremiah． We talked scary or funny stories in rotation． I’m not able to write here about stories because these are our secret． But I was amusing the talking time．

In the evening we played billiards with Swing（one of UW-Oshkosh hmong students）． It was my first playing of billiards and so difficult but exciting for me． Then， we visited to the spot which said to appears ghosts in Gruenhagen（our current resident）． The ghost spot is between the 9th and 10th floor． We took pictures in the spot． I could not take any photo of ghost but Shojiro took a strange picture． I have been scared・・・． Was it real ghost?

今日もやはり自分の頭の中にある情報を英語の形で言葉にするトレーニングと、ほかの人の話の内容を聞き取るトレーニングだったんですね。
でも、こういう地道なトレーニングのお陰か、メンバーの英語力がめきめき上がっているように感じます。
細かいところで文句を言えばきりが無いけれど、出発前に一番英語に自信の無かった橋本君がこれだけの量の英文を書けるようになったんですから、みんなの努力ももちろんだけど、Maryの授業は効果絶大ですね！

それにしても、お化けの話や怖い話は、万国共通でみんな楽しむようですね。
それにしても、迷信についての授業を終えた後で、宿舎の心霊スポットに行って写真を撮るなんて・・・
