ウクライナデーでウクライナに思いをはせる

2023年3月5日（日）、本学三鷹キャンパス松田進勇記念アリーナにおいて、ウクライナデーが開催されました。これは、三鷹市に所在する公益財団法人三鷹国際交流協会が三鷹市とともに、ウクライナの文化や食を体感する機会を主催したもので、本学園の松田剛明理事長が（公財）三鷹国際交流協会の理事長を務めていることもあって実現されました。

松田理事長は、「本日がウクライナの文化に触れ、理解を深める機会になればと思います。三鷹市で暮らすウクライナの人達に思いを寄せていただきたい。」と挨拶しました。同協会の理事を務める外国語学部の坂本ロビン教授のゼミナール学生も司会を担当するなど、本学の教職員、学生も協力して運営をサポートしました。また、地域連携センターの石井センター長は司会の役割を担う学生やワークショップなどのサポートをする学生の姿に触れ、運営に関わる学生達の活躍ぶりを称えていました。この日は約3,000人の来場者があり、遠く異国の地のウクライナを体感する機会となりました。

会場となった三鷹キャンパスが所在する三鷹市は、東京の多摩地域の最東端に位置し、都心へのアクセスは抜群で、行政サービス水準は日本一と言われています。約1年前に始まったロシアによるウクライナ軍事侵攻によって、三鷹市には30名ほどのウクライナからの避難者が暮らしています。三鷹市は多摩地域の中でも多くの避難民を受け入れている自治体の一つでもあり、この日も多くの三鷹市民が参加することで、ウクライナの文化や食を体験し、見て、感じる1日となりました。


Considering Ukraine on Ukraine-Day

　On March 5, 2023, "Ukraine Day" was held at the Matsuda Shin-yu Memorial Arena on Mitaka Campus of Kyorin University. The Mitaka International Society for Hospitality (MISHOP) and Mitaka City put this together as a chance for people to experience Ukrainian cuisine and culture. As Chairman Takeaki Matsuda of Kyorin University serves as the Chairman of MISHOP, the event was hosted in the university's arena.
　　"We hope that today will be an opportunity to explore and deepen our understanding of Ukrainian culture and I sincerely hope you will give some thought to the Ukrainian people living in Mitaka," remarked Chairman Matsuda. The faculties, staff, and students of Kyorin University worked together to assist the management of the event. The emcees were the seminar students of Professor Robin Sakamoto of the Faculty of Foreign Studies, who also serves on the MISHOP Board of Directors. Hiroyuki Ishii, director of the Center for Regional Collaboration, complimented the students participating in organizing and supporting the event. Over 3,000 people attended the event, giving them the chance to experience Ukraine, a far-off country from Japan.

　The event's location, Mitaka Campus, is in Mitaka City, the easternmost city in Tokyo's Tama region. Mitaka is well-connected to the city center of Tokyo and is reputed to have the finest standard of administrative services in Japan. About 30 Ukrainian evacuees are residing in Mitaka as a result of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, which started about a year ago. Many Mitaka residents attended this event in order to learn about, experience, and feel Ukrainian culture and cuisine.
